⚖️ DMCA Policy

This Digital Millennium Copyright Act (“DMCA”) Policy explains how we handle copyright infringement claims related to the game Cyber Rebellion and all content made available on or through our platform. We respect the rights of original creators and expect everyone in our community—players, streamers, artists, and modders—to do the same.

1) Purpose and Commitment

The purpose of this policy is to provide a clear, consistent process for addressing copyright concerns while preserving the vibrant creative culture around Cyber Rebellion. We aim to balance the protection of intellectual property with fair, good‑faith community participation.

2) Definitions

  • “Content”: Any material posted, uploaded, embedded, or otherwise made available, including images, videos, audio, text, data, mods, and compiled assets.
  • “Official Assets”: Game art, UI elements, icons, models, textures, cinematics, music, SFX, story, dialogue, and other proprietary materials related to Cyber Rebellion.
  • “User-Generated Content (UGC)”: Fan art, screenshots, gameplay recordings, guides, builds, theorycrafting posts, and other works created by users.
  • “Notice”: A DMCA-compliant notification alleging infringement.
  • “Counter-Notice”: A response asserting that material was removed or disabled due to mistake or misidentification.

3) Scope of Protected Works

Examples of protected works include, but are not limited to:

  • Character, skill, rune, and gear designs, including names, icons, and visual effects
  • Environment art, tilesets, UI layouts, fonts used in-game, and HUD elements
  • Audio assets such as original music, SFX, voice lines, and ambiences
  • Narrative elements, quest texts, lore, and in-game dialogue
  • 3D models, animations, particle systems, shaders, and technical implementations
  • Logos, trademarks, promotional images, and key art

4) Prohibited Uses Without Permission

Unless expressly authorized by the relevant rights holder, you may not:

  • Extract, copy, rehost, or redistribute Official Assets in raw or near-raw form
  • Create commercial products or paid access using Official Assets
  • Disassemble or repackage game files to publish asset collections or libraries
  • Create derivative works that are likely to cause confusion with the original game or brand
  • Bypass in-game or platform-level protections to obtain non-public materials

5) Acceptable Fan Use (High-Level Guidance)

We support non-commercial UGC that adds value to the community, such as streams, guides, theorycrafting, and educational breakdowns. When using gameplay footage or screenshots, avoid implying official endorsement, avoid extensive use of non-public or datamined materials, and keep watermarking or attribution intact where applicable. This section is guidance only and does not waive any rights.

6) Submitting a DMCA Notice

If you believe content available on our platform infringes your copyright, you may submit a Notice that includes the following:

  1. An identification of the copyrighted work you claim is infringed
  2. Identification of the allegedly infringing material and where it appears on our platform (specific location sufficient for us to find it)
  3. A statement of good faith belief that the use is not authorized by the rights holder, its agent, or the law
  4. A statement asserting the accuracy of the Notice and that you are the rights holder or authorized to act on their behalf

For efficiency and verification, use the on-site reporting tools or the designated reporting channel described within our platform interface.

7) What Happens After a Notice

Upon receiving a facially valid Notice, we may take one or more of the following actions:

  • Temporarily remove or disable access to the content at issue
  • Notify the uploader about the claim and the removal
  • Request clarifications or additional information from either party
  • Terminate or restrict accounts in accordance with our repeat-infringer policy

8) Counter-Notification Procedure

If you believe your content was removed due to mistake or misidentification, you may submit a Counter-Notice that includes:

  1. Identification of the material that has been removed or disabled and its previous location
  2. A statement under good faith that the material was removed due to mistake or misidentification
  3. A statement affirming that you have the legal right to post or use the material

We will review the Counter-Notice and, where appropriate, may restore the content unless we receive a further valid claim or the dispute otherwise requires the content to remain offline.

9) Fair Use and Other Exceptions

Some uses may qualify as fair use or similar exceptions under applicable law. Determinations are fact-specific and evaluated case-by-case. Submitting a Notice does not guarantee removal; similarly, submitting a Counter-Notice does not guarantee reinstatement. We reserve the right to take action we deem appropriate to comply with the law and protect our community.

10) Repeat-Infringer Policy

We may limit access, suspend, or terminate accounts that are the subject of repeated, substantiated infringement claims. Factors considered can include the number of valid Notices, the nature of violations, the responsiveness of the user, and the context of prior warnings or resolutions.

11) Preservation of Evidence

We may preserve records, logs, and copies of disputed materials as reasonably necessary to process Notices and Counter-Notices, document actions taken, and comply with legal obligations. We may share relevant information with the involved parties to facilitate resolution consistent with applicable law.

12) Mods, Tools, and Data Mining

Community tooling that enhances play without extracting or redistributing Official Assets may be allowed, provided it does not enable cheating, disrupt service integrity, or expose non-public content. Publication of extracted models, textures, audio, or code from Cyber Rebellion is prohibited unless explicitly authorized.

13) Streaming and Monetization

Non-exclusive permission to stream or publish gameplay (including ad-supported content) is generally permitted where it does not substitute for the game, reveal non-public content, or misuse Official Assets outside of gameplay context. Using our branding in a way that suggests sponsorship or endorsement is not allowed without express authorization.

14) No Waiver of Rights

Nothing in this policy constitutes a waiver of any rights in or to Cyber Rebellion or its associated intellectual property. We may enforce our rights at any time, including seeking removal of content beyond the strict requirements of the DMCA when permitted by law.

15) Policy Administration and Updates

We may revise this policy to reflect changes in law, platform features, or community practices. Updated versions take effect upon posting on our platform. Continued use of the platform after changes indicates acceptance of the updated policy.

16) How to Reach Us About a DMCA Matter

Use the reporting mechanisms available within our platform interface to submit Notices and Counter-Notices with the required statements listed above. Provide enough detail for us to identify the material and assess your claim efficiently.

Our goal is to safeguard creative expression around Cyber Rebellion while protecting the rights of original creators. Thank you for helping us maintain a lawful and respectful community.
